fast-engaging read. look for more ALtman
Een vrouwelijke Duits/Amerikaanse 'mol' poogt informatie over de atoombom naar de nazi's te krijgen; zij verzeilt daarbij noodlottig in een geallieerde operatie met dubbelspionnen. Het traditioneel opgebouwde spionageverhaal, gedeeltelijk gebaseerd op historische feiten en personen, speelt zich in drie delen af tussen 1942 en 1945, in Engelse en Amerikaanse geheime dienstkringen. Vlotte stijl, gevarieerd, eenvoudig taalgebruik en levendige dialogen dragen bij aan spanning en vaart. De personages worden psychologisch goed, hoewel niet diepgaand uitgewerkt. Er wordt makkelijk en veelvuldig gemoord. Het achterplat vergelijkt de auteur met Follett en Le Carré, voor een deel terecht.
