The librarian stereotypes still annoy, but the plot was more exciting with this one. Also suffers from Murder She Wrote syndrome - why do people keep getting killed in the vicinity of this perfectly normal albeit obsessive woman? But many mystery series do.
Fifth in the Jo Dereske series on librarian Helma Zukas. In this one Helma and her friend Ruth take a kiking trip to the mountains near Bellehaven, WA. naturally murder ensues, and Helma and Ruth are caught in an early snow in an emergency cabin with other stranded hikers.
After aiding in the rescue of a gravely injured man, Helma Zukas and her friend Ruth search for the victim's missing companion and are stranded in a snowstorm with a group of strangers, one of whom is a killer
This was #5 of 12 in the series, and one of the best! I have now completed reading them all. (I like to read in order but couldn't get my hands on this one till now).
Helma works in the Bellehaven Public Library. She wears a Love your Library T-shirt on her day off. She has a cat. I stopped reading at that point.
