Some of the stuff you read in adolescence stays with you forever, some of THAT you can reread without grimacing, wryly or otherwise. My copy is yellowed, and it's my only example of the series, but the stories (a la the music of the Velvet Underground) have a lingering power. It's the anthology which introduced me to Schopenhauer, James Tiptree, Jr., the Death of Dr. Island, alternate time streams, and something up there that likes me.
