A children's book, not as good as [b:A Little Princess|3008|A Little Princess|Frances Hodgson Burnett|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327868556s/3008.jpg|1313599], which is the measurement by which such books are judged. I'm sure I wanted another Little Princess story, which I did not get.
Dnf. The Librivox narrator read a little too fast for me.
Bought by mistake...probably never will read it

- Halfway up the shining surface of the gilt-framed pier glass was a mark--a tiny ink-line that had been carefully drawn across the outer edge of the wide bevel.
