Stories and Poems for Extremely Intelligent Children of All Ages

Harold bloom's anthology of classic tales aimed about middle grade level, organised "thematically" according to season. Wonderful stories and poems of course (albeit with a very western, 19th century, male author bent) but the format of the book is a bit offputting for actual children (very dense text, etc) so probably better considered a read-aloud for this audience.

A fabulous pick-up, put-down book that will last you quite awhile. Definitely worth purchasing. I loved the variety in it - you never know what it will come up with next. Not quite sure why it's listed by seasons, but whatever. It neither helps nor hurts it.

Wonderful collection of short stories and poems (makes me want to read more of the short story authors' works). Would be interesting to see a 20th century version of this book (i.e., selections from more modern poets and writers).
