Description

"Cade Skywalker has escaped the clutches of Darth Krayt and imprisonment in the Sith Temple. He has faced the teachings of the dark side and returned to his friends with new knowledge and a few secrets as well. Cade says he desires only a return to blissful obscurity, but a Sith bounty on his head will force him to decide what it is he truly values, and what he must do to maintain it. This reluctant heir to the Skywalker legacy could end up a hero whether he likes it or not."--P. [4] of cover.

A third (and hidden) base for the Jedi? They're pulling more and more reference material from the original story lines... It's kind of good to know that the Jedi aren't as completely decimated as the Sith think and that they're actually making plans to enter into the expanding political conflict at the urging of Cade Skywalker. He may not follow along the Jedi's neat and controlled path, but he may be the only one who is capable of thinking outside of their rather closed mind-set and being able to see the greater picture of the galaxy in crisis.
I didn't find this installment of the usually-excellent Legacy series very interesting; it's definitely the weakest thus far. Is it because of too much of the dull Cade Skywalker? Or the Jedi yet again being afraid to act for no readily apparent reason in a crisis situation where their choice of action is obvious? Or the appearance of another Jedi from Ostrander's prequel comics who apparently somehow sat out the entirety of the original trilogy, the Bantam novels, The New Jedi Order, Dark Nest, and Legacy of the Force yet is now a revered member of the Order? I don't know, but I was just not very interested in this book.
Cade Skywalker and company are back on camera, and we learn more about his own past and that of his friend Jariah Syn as they visit Cade’s “Uncle Bantha” and then a secret Jedi temple. Ostrander gives us good repartee and lays groundwork for an alliance seeking to take down Darth Krayt while Cade dances between the light and dark sides of the Force.
I had trouble getting into the first arc. I think I am getting tired of how sleazy Cade and his crew are. The introduction of another Skywalker was interesting.

The second arc, The Hidden Temple, was much better. I enjoyed the reintroduction to some old and ancient characters, the exploration of Jariah Syn's demons, and unlikely alliances.
Seeking sanctuary from Darth Krayt and his Sith order Cade Skywalker goes to his uncle (fathers brother) who is living incognito with his family on a remote world of Iego.

But as it is always case with Cade trouble soon finds him and he sees only one way out of it - he has to kill Krayt before Krayt finds him.

Note: Events here are prelude to the events in Vector (Legacy era story parts)

Great story and very good art.

Recommended.
