An excellent, if hard to find, companion to Dorothy Dunnett's novels. Part of the richness of the Lymond and Niccoló series is the sheer wealth of literary and historical allusions—most of which escape the modern reader. This book is invaluable if you want to increase your understanding of Dunnett's subtleties.
If you love Dorothy Dunnett's Niccolo or Lymond series, or if you wondered what Lymond meant by some obscure poetic or classical reference and want to expand your knowledge, The Dorothy Dunnett Companion Volume I & II are must-haves.
