Groups75 Books Challenge for 2009

About meI learned to read when I was four. My mother was expecting her 4th child and no longer had time to read me 20 books a day. Every photo since then, in the family album, I am holding a book. I've been reading for over 30 years.
My first favorite author was Louisa May Alcott, followed by L.M. Montgomery, Jane Austen, and J.R.R. Tolkien. I love biography, historical fiction, non-fiction, essays, romance (think Georgette Heyer, not Danielle Steele) and everything in between.
On my bedside table I have about 20 books waiting to be read. They include "Liberal Fascism", "Year of Wonders", and "Espresso Tales".
Now that I'm all grown up and have 3 kids a husband and a small business, I don't read as fast as I used to. So many books, so little time.

About my libraryIt's big and it's growing. I just can't help myself. One of my friends told me once that I was the only person they knew who would need a shopping cart in a bookstore. That might be true, but I'm pretty picky about what makes it into my library. If I really love a book, I have it in paperback and hardcover.
