A dictionary of contemporary American usage by Bergen Evans

My edition is a little out of date 1957 as opposed to 2008, but I still find it useful when I want to be explicit. I often use this book in conjunction with one of my many Thesauruses’ when I need a more detailed explanation of how a word is used.
