Short biography
Aurelius Ambrosius, better known in English as Saint Ambrose (c. 340 – 4 April 397), was an archbishop of Milan who became one of the most influential ecclesiastical figures of the 4th century. He was consular prefect of Liguria and Emilia, headquartered in Milan, before being made bishop of Milan by popular acclamation in 374. Ambrose was a staunch opponent of Arianism.

An interesting religious document containing what St. Ambrose believed, and put forward, on his respective topics. It was fascinating to see the way that he detailed his spiritual learning and made for good reading.

Em 1955, a Editora Vozes de Petrópolis lançou " Os Três Livros Sobre a Virgindade", de autoria do Doutor da Igreja Santo Ambrósio de Milão, numa tradução portuguesa das Monjas Beneditinas da Abadia de Santa Maria de São Paulo, com prefácio de Padre José Melo, que vem datado de 31 de julho de 1935, levando aliás o imprimatur do bispo a mesma data.
