I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I don't usually read books of poetry. I have myself pigeon-holed as a fiction girl, but now I'm wondering what I've missed. I intended to read a poem or two per day from this book. I wanted to savor it over time. It did not work out that way. I found myself reading one and then thinking, "just one more," which then progressed to, "just one more" and "just one more" and... you get the picture. Before I knew it, I had devoured the thing in 2 days. At first I show more thought, "What a lovely coincidence that I read this now. I really needed so many of these poems." But, then, I realized it's not a coincidence; I could have read this book at any time and the poems would have been "just what I needed." Most of them are about love. They burst with intensity and fullness. There's also a sense of hope and strength and perseverance that weaves throughout. The author is obviously a sensitive guy and we sensitive people need lots of hope and strength and perseverance to make it in the world. I've already started following him on Facebook so I can get a regular fix of his thoughts and poems. I can't get enough. show less

This book is not the kind that I would have picked for myself. It was sent to me free for review and the concept really intrigued me. Oddly enough, I majored in Japanese in college so I’m very familiar with haiku. This is the kind of book that I’m so glad that I took a chance on because it was so beautiful and rewarding to read.
Each page is very simple. It has a simple handwritten poem on a notecard or post-it or other small piece of paper. The show more background is sometimes a drawing, sometimes objects, sometimes plain. Its obvious that each picture was painstakingly planned and each poem carefully written.
I just loved this book because it was so unassuming and straightforward. Haiku traditionally are deceptively simple and these do not disappoint. I fell in love with these poems and I’m sure you will too. You can see some the images below so you can see exactly what I’m talking about. You might not think that this book is your style, but you might surprise yourself! show less

"I overheard the man whisper, 'I am a lover not a fighter,' and to myself I thought, I am in fact both. For is it love at all if it's not worth fighting for?"
thanks for puncturing my heart.
the uniqueness of this.
the photography.
not all the poems were for me but they were all terribly and heartbreakingly good.

I read very little poetry, but I love poems by Tyler Gregson. He touches my heart, makes me think and makes me feel. Such beautiful use of words, and so accessible.
