Charts can quickly hit the highlights of a complex subject. However, this parliamentary procedure chart is dated and has far too many mistakes.

For starters, the chart is based on 19th century versions of Robert's Rules. The latest Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised is the 11th Edition published in 2011. Each new edition brings changes to procedure (the 11th Edition has 120 listed changes). As a result, this 2001 chart has section references to a Robert's out-of-print for over a century. show more In addition, wrong terms for motions are used and incorrect procedures are described.

A quick review reveals over 20 significant errors (and the chart is only 4 panels!) from the current Robert's:
** Nominations do not require a second
** The Chair does not have "highest priority as `mover'"
** The example of a divisible motion is not divisible
** The motion to Commit does not open the main question to debate
** The author of the original Robert's Rules was H. M. Robert
** A "minority report" is not a matter of right
** The motion to Fix the Time to Which to Adjourn has nothing to do with "Setting Adjournment Time"
** Setting aside the Orders of the Day requires a 2/3's vote, not a majority
** A Request for Permission to Withdraw a Motion is not debatable
** A motion to Table can be made when the Previous Question is pending
** Divide the Question is not a form of amendment
** "Maker of motion calls for closure of debate" is inaccurate
** A "Call for the Previous Question" to end debate requires a vote
** "Time for Adjournment" is not the highest ranking motion
** "2/3 majority" is not an accurate parliamentary term
** Chair cannot adjourn meeting simply because loses control
** The outdated spelling of "by-laws" is used
** Clerk/Secretary does not automatically serve as "substitute Chair"
** "Deferral to a Certain Time" is not the name of a motion
** Tabling should not be used to "kill" a motion
** The motion to close debate can be used to end "unpopular debate"
** "Suppressing the Question" is not the name of a motion

While the chart is not very expensive, it would be worth the few extra dollars to get one of the excellent book guides to Robert's instead. show less

This is a three page (six if you count the back sides) spread summarizing important information for an EMT to know. I used it initially to learn key points before taking my EMT class, but in general, reference guides like this are more useful when you are working on solving a problem. For example, I use them when studying Talmud and I need to check the definition of a word. In the EMS profession, you don't really stop to consult a reference like this while working with a patient. So I do not show more find the EMT quick study as useful as the quick studies for other topics. show less

This little "cheat sheet" is great for students who are learning Spanish. It serves as a wonderful study guide when reviewing concepts for tests or quizzes. It also serves as a reference work, to look up unfamiliar grammar concepts while reading in Spanish.
