Reviews
The Beatles were far from perfect, but this book is not only salacious; it's lazily applied salaciousness. Giuliano appears in several places to have merely watched "The Beatles Anthology," and then supplied (from his not especially fertile imagination) dialogue for described events. This is an exercise by a nitwit, only fit for consumption by readers who know better than to buy into this half-baked nonsense.
These true-life stories of survivors of the Titanic are gripping and astounding. In various voices, we hear first-hand accounts of what these people experienced as they abandoned the ship for life boats. The quality of the recordings vary, but all are quite clear. It is an amazing collection, and will appeal to all who are fascinated with the tragedy of the sinking.
That fateful night [sound recording] : true stories of Titanic survivors--in their own words! by Geoffrey Giuliano
This isn't the best book ever on The Titanic, but it is related by eyewitnesses, which gives the audio book powerful immediacy. The most moving and enlightening part was on disc two, the recounting of all he experienced by Arthur H. Rostron, Captain of the rescuing ship, the Carpathia.
In this second part of the Lost Titanic Tapes, relatives of survivors recount what has become their families’ lore concerning the sinking. Also included are various opinions of the crews’ actions, including the culpability of Captain Smith. These tapes are quite interesting and thought-provoking.
