Ifa Divination: Communication between Gods and Men in West Africa (Midland Book, MB 638) by William Russell Bascom
After reading its easy to see why this text is understood as a landmark must read. It is well researched and given the limitations of not being a practitioner of the faith I don't really see how one could ask for more from a writer. I very much appreciated the way it locates the Ifa divining practices as a apart of this web of spiritual practices that influence each other as well as the way Bascom filled in the contextual gaps with extensive footnotes. This is an text i would recommend in show more for those looking to begin developing their understanding of the role divination plays within Ifa. show less
