An excellent A-Z overview on how to apply direct response marketing online complete with a foreword by copywriting legend Dan Kennedy.

The book introduces copywriting principles I've seen referenced elsewhere (e.g. "soap opera sequence" and "Seinfeld emails"). While most of the examples relate to selling products, there was one good example near the end on selling services. Some other reviewers have been bothered by the author's occasional references to ClickFunnels, a marketing software show more program, that makes it easy to execute on "Dot Com Secrets." I have no problem with the promotion. Brunson does well in explaining foundational principles (e.g. the value ladder) and specific marketing tactics (e.g. the perfect webinar).

I would like liked to see more detailed breakdowns in some of the examples. For example, spend $1000 on traffic and what are the results at each stage of the funnel?

Read this a week after reading through Brunson's first book "Dot Com Secrets." I liked the book's structured approach to copywriting. For example, he describes a process to create a sales oriented webinar (and that you should deliver it live many times before considering to automate it). I also liked the section near the end explaining ways to implement the "Dream 100" concept - an excellent option to supplement or replace acquiring leads through paid advertising.

I would have liked to see show more more detailed examples of the funnels. For example, there are numerous mentions of revenue earned from a given funnel but I kept wondering "what was the profit? how much ad spend was required?"

I would highly recommend the book if you are interested in copywriting and online business.

Without traffic coming to your website, nothing is going to happen. Brunson's third book covers traffic strategies in depth. The "Dream 100" concept for obtaining traffic (i.e. borrow somebody else's audience) was an excellent. I also liked the publishing plan laid out for each of the social media networks. Since I tend to focus on B2B areas, I was hoping to see coverage of LinkedIn - alas, it was not covered at all. However, the coverage for Facebook and Instagram were quite good.
Yeah it's an internet marketing book by one of "those internet marketing guys". Don't let that fool you, it's got a lot of great content.

His discussion of how to craft a pitch is priceless. Understanding that people don't make decisions firstly intellectually, and how to give them a reason to want to investigate your product is great.

You can get the book for "free" just pay shipping and handling. At http://bit.ly/2rabQdf (yes it's an affiliate link).
