Rosearik Rikki Simons

I clearly had a different response the first time I read this because I bought the next volume, which, if I recall correctly, is better. Part of the problem here is that there's a lot of setup going on but not very much explication leaving things in a bit of a confusing muddle. I finished this feeling that I still don't really know what's going on. The premise is intriguing but I'm looking forward to re-reading the next couple volumes and remembering what the heck is actually happening.

I found this volume to be very disjointed, Hard to follow, and bit creepy - The rules of this world aren't defined.

This is a story set in the near-future about the internet, cats, and technology. While amusing, it tries to be a little too cute sometimes, and the whole Ranklechick and his 3 legged cat bit just didn’t seem to fit the story, but anyway, I read it because it was written in part by Rosearik Rikki Simons, the voice of GIR from Invader Zim. It’s cute if you like manga.

Is cute typical sojou manga - pretty, but clumsy leading character, two mysterious brothers in magical kingdom of the dead... cute cuddly animal blobs about.
