Walker's definition of a "little house" is engagingly eclectic, including anything from a tiny urban townhouse to a motel cabin to an ice fishing shanty. It's an education in American history as well as architecture and less-is-more economics to read this delightful book (which helpfully comes with photographs and tiny plans and detail drawings). I'm still wondering though, why it took "much research" to identify a quite ordinary school bus shelter!
A quick look at some inspiring tiny homes. I liked the Summer house the best, all those windows. With images that inspire and motivate those who are looking into tiny homes for the first time this book will help. Although some of the homes are a bit extreme!
This book features famous historical tiny houses, and crucially provides drawn plans for each as well!
I have owned this book for decades and I find it so inspiring to see so many tiny home options that I dream of building some day!

Fascinating look at houses and other shelters built over the years in the United States. Included are sketches of building layouts as well as how the houses evolved over time.
