This book leaves me wondering whether anything about Ancient Egyptian women has come out in the past 20 years.

This book would have been greatly imporved by a different title, to indicate the great void of information, and avoid the unfulfilable expectation that the book would actually give us some real insight into the lives of women in Ancient Egypt.

Another major improvement would have been to have the illustrations near the text describing them. There could be pictures on a page describing show more an illustration, and the picture described would be 20-30 pages away, but the picture there with no connection to the text at all. Very poor editing. show less

Non so, forse amo le opere monumentali ma complete, ma questo libro ha rappresentato per me una sorta di "assaggio" sull'arte dell'Egitto antico. Sicuramente è ben strutturato ed organizzato, e molte spiegazioni vengono date in modo molto più limpido che altrove, però alcune cose fondamentali non appaiono..e alcuni concetti sembrano essere riportati in maniera ripetitiva per tutta la lunghezza del volume.
Este libro argumenta que la innovación y la variación estilística jugaron un papel significativo en el arte egipcio antiguo.
