What kind of heritage are you giving your children? What will they remember about your home life in later years? Writing out of her years of experience as a teacher of prayer workshops and counselor of family groups, Rosalind Rinker shares helpful and practical ways of establishing a family prayer time in the home. In her simple, direct style, she begins at the logical place - the beginning - taking the reader step-by-step from the first, halting prayer and showing how to develop a pattern show more for meaningful personal communication and honest sharing between family members and between the individuals and the Lord. Prayer is communication on the highest level, and communication is being aware of others and listening and responding to what they say. The problem is, of course, that most people do not know how to begin. Making Family Devotions a Priority is a practical text on the subject, and the family devotionals (thirty days' worth) in the last section enable you to begin immediately. show less
Classic book on personal evangelism by former missionary, Ros Rinker. This book is short and easy to read as well as non threatening in its approach to a subject that for many is an uncomfortable command of our Savior. Ros writes from her own personal experience often of humorous, often of unsuccessful, as well as succesful stories from her own life and the lives of others.
A quick, easy read. I finished it in one day. There is some really good stuff in there!

I am intrigued by the concept of conversational group prayer and plan to further investigate and experiment with Ms. Rinker's ideas.
The person or group that learns to pray in a personal, meaningful way will escape the boredom of ritual and tap the enormous power of God.
