I would have finished reading it if I had time. A thorough analysis of early 1800s America, following the "agrarians vs. merchants" theory.
I abandoned this book as soon as I read that William Howard Taft succeeded Theodore Roosevelt as president in 1905.
Third issue devoted to food. see other entries.
