This book was a mythological book, This story begins with a barren queen being unable to have children. The queen asks the gods for a son. She received a son. The fertility goddesses decided that he was going to be killed by either a crocodile, a snake or a dog. The king locks his son into a tower away from the things that could hurt him. The prince decides to leave his tower to explore the world. He encounters a princess in a tower.

This is a good example of a legend. The book was translated from the hieroglyphics from King Tut's reign, although the original characters are not known. This book would be great for teaching Egyptian culture and hieroglyphics. On each page, the hieroglyphics are translated into English, but if you knew a few symbols, you could follow along.

This folktale is one that has been written down on Papyrus scrolls for over 3000 years and passed down through generations. Part of this story may be true. The illustrations for this story are very fitting because they are what were originally used to tell the story and are classic Egyptian art.
