To me the story about a retired police chief who gets into the police world again (or, never really left?) wasn't very catching. Murder, old colleagues that are (were) dirty, old bills that need to be paid, more murder...
It may have been the style of writing (no translation this time, so the poor translator cannot be blamed here ;) ). I don't really know how to call it in English, but it should be something like: the book, the story was "cornerish". Really not fluent. It was like parts of show more the past of the chief of police were missing, which made the rest of the story very jumpy, not easy to follow. I thought it might be me, who wasn't there with her head reading the book. But, even the second time, when I already knew what was coming, I still felt the same way.
Not a book that I would read again. show less
