This book is focused on media coverage of Labour-led London councils in 1980s (and of the introduction of Ken Livingstone's London congestion charge in 2002-2003). I found this engaging and frankly eye-opening, and very appropriate reading with the current times in mind.

The book could have used a lot more thorough proofreading, there was an embarrassing number of silly typoes.

Enlightening discourse on a subject that has my ears and anger often burning. Natioanlism confronted and disected but as usual - still leaving me grasping for the definitive - if there is one. the comments in the last chapter are insightful with the concept of commonwealth again a possibly farflung but useful possibility.
