Definitely not a book “in my comfort zone”, but another one I’m glad I read. It started a bit slow, I had a little trouble getting into it, but once I did it was very good. The only complaint I have is that the ending was a bit ambiguous, but I guess I’ll read into it the way I want whether it’s what the author intended or not, lol.
2023 movie #64. 1956. In a world before men's trousers were invented, two civilizations battle over a woman. You know the story. The battle scenes were decent but otherwise the movie was pretty dull with high school play level acting.
2022 movie #58. 2021. Clint Eastwood looks every one of his 92 years here. He plays a former rodeo cowboy asked to retrieve a friend's son from his mother in Mexico. The old man and the 13-yo gradually bond. Macho is the name of the kid's rooster. An OK movie but kinda slow.
2021 movie #153. 1956. Spinster Lizzie (Hepburn) keeps house for her father and 2 brothers in Depression era Kansas during a drought. Con man Starbuck (Lancaster) comes to town promising he can make it rain and melts Lizzie's heart. Best Actress nom for Hepburn. Good movie.
