André Previn's first wife (1952-1957) was Betty Bennett (b. 1921), US jazz singer. His second wife (1959-1969) was Dory Langan (1925-2012), US singer-songwriter. His third marriage (1970-1979) was to Mia Farrow (b. 1945), US actor. This fourth marriage was to Heather Sneddon, 1982-2002. His fifth wife, 2002-2006, was Anne-Sophie Mutter (b. 1963), German violinist.

This is an absolutely delightful volume of witty reminiscence from a generally underated composer. Previn writes of his early days in Hollywood as a film composer and conductor. The highlight is a sidesplittingly hilarious encounter with Ava Gardner, which he must still laugh about. A super read.
