Wegen des sehr allgemein gefassten Themas ist das Buch häufig leider recht oberflächlich und verliert sich manchmal in Aufzählungen von wichtigen Regisseuren und Werken. Genauere inhaltliche Analysen sind nur stellenweise zu finden. Insgesamt aber ein gutes Buch zum Einstieg mit vielen Literaturangaben zum vertiefenden Lesen.
