This book is a must read for anyone approaching or in the middle of becoming an empty nester! We are about 6 years away ourselves baring any returning children. Barbara and Susan have not only done their research on making the transition but they have lived it themselves and interviewed a lot of other women for this book. Their goal is to give us the tools we need to make a smoother transition and to realize that we are not alone nor are we done once the kids leave. It is a jumping off place show more for us to start a new phase of life. They give us lots of ways to find our next mission once the children are grown and ways to renew our marriages once we are just two again. It is a brilliant read! Just get it! LOL show less

There are forty prayers for women in this book and author Barbara Rainey shares both petitions for help and prayers of praise. Some of these prayers are very raw and she talks about disappointment, her marriage, her children, and life in general, but it is evident that she believes and trusts in our Heavenly Father. In the foreword she urges readers to "Underline phrases or portions. Write in the margins. Add your own Words. Make these petitions your own. " This is exactly what you should do show more because My Heart, Ever His is filled with words that are applicable to all of us and the chosen scripture and powerful prayers will surely help deepen your own faith. The hardback cover, ribbon bookmark, and illustrated pages make it an appealing book to own and a perfect gift for the special women in your life.

This is a beautiful book - both inside and out. It's filled with heart-felt prayers that really touched my heart.

I absolutely loved the introduction that Barbara wrote. It explains why she wrote these prayers and how her study of Scripture guided her in these prayers. She explains that these are not happy, life is great, prayers but prayers from times when life is hard. There is also prayers of praise and all of these were so relatable to me as I go through my own life hardships.

The prayers show more are so beautiful and I found myself pondering over each one. They are meant to be read slowly. Barbara Rainey's writing is so poetic and beautiful and I found myself lingering over these prayers. I also used them as a jumping off point to pray my own prayers. Using this book during my time with God quieted my heart and allowed me to really focus on my Bible study and prayers.

This is a book I know I will return to again and again. I really have enjoyed my time reading it and I know you'll like it as much as I do. I give it 5 stars.
