I only read approximately 20% of the book for a university course. It is a pretty good read. I would have preferred if there was fewer infodumps and better organization. But the information it offers is quite spot on.

Old as some of these high school textbooks are, lacking the bright colors and added references to audiovisuals, they offer a coherent, straightforward account of the subject.
There are excellent, clear maps, interesting black and white illustrations of places and people and a good chronological summary of a complicated subject spanning over 4 centuries and half North America.

Poor condition. Ex-library copy. Cover much worn and stained. End papers are badly stained. Much staining, writing, and markings throughout book. Binding loose.
