The advice in this book boils down mostly to "force yourself to be social" rather than offering advise for how to navigate the dark mires of forced conversation. Telling a shy person to just stop being shy isn't all that constructive.
How to Control Any Conversation - Simple Ways to Deal with Difficult People and Awkward Situations by Peter W. Murphy
Great read.
I am a communication junkie so this was a just for fun read. :p but it was well laid out and made great points throughout the book. Of course it is one of those easier said than done topics so if this is something you struggle with set small goals, and celebrate the small victories you achieve.

A decent book on overcoming procrastination and extending oneself to achieve more. Mr. Murphy's philosophy centers on small, sustainable increases -- 1% a day -- to build up lasting results. The book is set up to be read over five days; a very reasonable amount each day, with an daily application that is keyed to the lesson. In this short book, he digs most deeply into what motivates a person (six levels and eight patterns of motivation).
A good read. I don't think I've adapted the methods show more as fully as I could, but the book is also accommodating of repeating the five day process as often as needed to allow the material to sink in. show less

This book could of had more but it was free. It was short but it did have some good suggestions.
