Reviews
A collection of brief, sidelong poems about memory, place, and story, leavened with some faint (faint) humour and a dash of poignancy. I appreciated some of these for their imagery, without necessarily feeling moved by them. Others seemed so personal, so self-referential in the purest sense, that they left me entirely cold.
Read almost all the poems and mostly from cover to cover. The cover says "at it's heart, a personable and resonant collection of poems approachable on first reading" which seems a bit mean spirited to me. They are very readable and some do stay in the memory - but his memory isn't mine and somehow the link between did not deepen.
