Inventing American Tradition: From the Mayflower to Cinco de Mayo by Jack David Eller

Well written take on the subject. I am not an expert in this area so I am assuming that the information contained is accurate. Learned a number of things about how traditions formed, and the myths that surround them, bought it and read it on a whim.
