Not for the casual reader. But if you have a curiosity about what "the rule of law" is about, this book provides one perspective in the form of deeply philosophical metatheory. About as easy to read and follow as Heidegger's Being and Time. The text touches on a number of interesting points, but then goes quickly on to slog through the next bullet point. There is no payoff for the investment in making it to the end, unfortunately. Having outlined how "the cultural study of law" should be show more conducted, he does not actually do any to show us how it might be different from what's going on now. show less
