I read this book because my 9-year-old is getting very into reading and I wanted to vet it for his tastes before getting it over to him. Unfortunately, I don't think it's his style. If I read this as a kid, I'd have been fine with it. It's a checklist/mission tale with the main character choosing four things to pursue - apologize to a neighbor, get towed behind unsuspecting motorists on his sled for a certain distance before getting towed back to start, face a bully, and kiss a girl. There's show more specifics - there's a certain neighbor, bully, girl... but that's the premise in a nutshell. There's action, but a bit lower key to much of the youth literature being produced today (this was from 1993...so no THAT long ago...but still really long with how kids and culture have moved).

So, I'd lightly recommend it to my younger self, but probably not to my son.
