Jag hade höga förhoppningar, bla eftersom Lotta Olsson i DN rankade den högt. Men jag blev ganska besviken. Trivsam 50-talskänsla och en mordmysterium som var OK. Men den var ganska seg och blev aldrig riktigt spännande. Det finns åtminstone tio deckare av Stieg Trenter som är bättre, och även flera av Maria Lang som slår den här.

This is a “good, old-fashioned” murder mystery and it was great fun reading how amateur detective Paul Kennet solved it — without any of the bells and whistles, the flashing lights, and above all without the rooms full of computers and other high-tech equipment common to many contemporary crime novels.

This is another very pleasant read. In my opinion that probably has a lot to do with the fact that it was originally published in 1955, that is, before computers and other modern technology helped solve crimes. Authors and the detectives they created, even amateur detectives like Paul Kennet, had to solve crimes with intelligence, not artificial intelligence.

Ingen höjdare, men intressant att läsa Rönbloms "största". Huvudpersonen är dock ingen vidare trovärdig eller fyllig karaktär. Tyckte bättre om Döden i grytan.
