Das heute als „Topographie des Terrors“ bekannte Gelände war der Zentralort von Planung und Lenkung der meisten Verbrechen des NS-Regimes. Hier, in der Prinz-Albrecht-Straße (heute: Niederkirchnerstraße) und der Wilhelmstraße, waren zwischen 1933 und 1945 mit dem Geheimen Staatspolizeiamt, der Reichsführung-SS und dem Reichssicherheitshauptamt die Zentralen der wichtigsten Institutionen des NS-Terrorapparates show more untergebracht. The Documentation "Topography of Terror" developed within the framework of the preparations for the central historical exhibition mounted in the Martin-Gropius-Bau on the occasion of the 750 Year Celebration of the City of Berlin. In conjunction with it, attention was directed to a location which was an important part of Berlin's history between 1933 and 1945. The area had been in oblivion much too long, and only within the last few years was partially restored to public consciousness.
