Compilation of short stories set in the Empire. Most of the stories focus on rebels. I especially like the ones that involve Mara Jade and Corran Horn. This book fills in portions of their backstories. In these we find out how Talon Karrde meets Mara Jade, how Corran ends up joining the rebellion, and how Corran and Hall capture Patches.

I really wish they would make an anthology solely of Zahn and Stackpole's Star Wars short stories. I only liked ONE of the short stories in this collection that wasn't by Zahn or Stackpole (Laura Burns' "Do No Harm"), and this is a trend with me and the Star Wars short story collections.
"Missed Chance" by Stackpole and the "Side Trip" collab by Zahn and Stackpole make this collection worth it, I guess.

I didn't love this, at all. I rarely drop a 2-star anymore but this just wasn't an engaging read. I really liked the Certain Point of View offerings and thought this might have been inspiration (It was released pre-Disney, transitions to Legends). It wasn't. The stories just weren't interesting. We didn't get tangential characters we knew about, we got stories about characters we don't know, places we don't know, with very little stakes.
