Nurturing Good Children Now: 10 Basic Skills to Protect and Strengthen Your Child's Core Self by Ron Taffel
A look at helping your kids build the following inner and inter-related skills: mood mastery, expressiveness, peer smarts, body comfort, team intelligence, respect, passion, focus, caution, and gratitude. The focus on the book is on working with your child's core personality (intense/sensitive/reserve/balanced), rather than "changing" your kid. The chapters on peer smarts and team intelligence were esp. relevant to me as I watch my intense kiddo oftentimes struggle in social situations with show more same-age peers - lots of practical tips. This gets a permanent place on my book shelf, which is a rare thing for parenting volumes. show less
