This was quite an entertaining history of Seattle through biography. I liked the way it focused on one family's experiences and actions in the making of Seattle (and throughout the first 50 years or so of its history). It's rather old-fashioned in the use of long quotes, but the quotes (from diaries and letters, mostly) are well chosen and fascinating. It's a little quaint in its glowing praise at times, but rarely too much. The only other fault is the small print.
Got this mainly because we visited it while in Honolulu. Doesn't include any of its history after 1969, obviously.
This 50 year old book provided a very nice pictorial history of ocean transportation.
