The book is written in both English and Japanese which makes it a wonderful book for an American host family or a Japanese host family! The book has many different types of origami projects from place settings for the table, to games, to art.
It is not for the beginner, although it does include the instructions for the basic folds. I found that the Japanese student(12 years old)was able to make anything from the book, but my American daughter (11 years old)could not reproduce many of the show more projects. (My 21 year old daughter had no trouble working with the photos and directions.) Some examples of the projects are: a Sumo game, balloons, pot holders, coasters, bookmarks, animals, snowmen, and a stacking Christmas Tree.
I would recommend having this book in the home when you have visitors from Japan. show less
