This is an adorably sized book about the Concorde — more like a postcard than a standard paperback or hardcover. The layout does the sleek Concorde justice in the many photographs shown. Callout boxes with fun facts are sprinkled throughout the book, as are quotes from key figures involved in the production and operation of the world’s first and so far only supersonic passenger aircraft. I did notice a small error mixing up the locations of the troposphere and the stratosphere (the show more troposphere is below the stratosphere, not above it), but everything else seemed largely correct. This is all right for flipping through. show less
Very nice look at the various markings of the Coalition Forces during Desert Storm/Gulf War. Excellent photographs.
A nice little book about the Hawker Hurricane. Very good 'coffee table book' for those of us without large coffee tables. Good photographs in a nice mix of restored planes in colour and vintage black-and-white ones. Very 'modern' in appearance. Did you know? all over the book, offering much insight. Ideal for youngsters to use for an essay about the airplane.
Richly illustrated with paintings by noted aviation artists, this informative tribute to one hundred years of aviation ranges from the Wright brothers' first successful flight in 1903 to the present day, capturing the extraordinary innovations in aircraft and aviation technology over the past century.
