Enjoyed reading our own history in a very simple language. Everything was scaled to its precision and unwanted briefing had been cut down. The vastness of then fertile lands and uninterrupted flow of river Cauvery will definitely leave us longing to go back in time
Historical fiction, dash of espionage, intrigue and romance in courts and dungeons of Chola Kings of South India and rival Pandyas. A sure-handed writer captures customs and ways of life of commonfolk, merchants, wayfarers, and contemporary professions such as astrology woven with great skill into the complex web of a thriller.
Delving deep into “The Sound of Waves“, this is one of Kalki’s most well-known books. The book was first released in Tamil, and then it was translated into other Indian languages. The novel is set in the early 20th century and follows the story of a young man named Raja, who is a freedom fighter and struggles against the British Raj in India.

The novel is highly acclaimed for its historical accuracy and its portrayal of the Indian independence movement. The seaside community, its show more inhabitants, and their way of life are all vividly described in the book. It also looks at issues like love, tradition, and how contemporary India is evolving.
