One of the most interesting things about this collection of logic puzzles is the focus on mechanical problems. Intricate representation of gears and models of pendulums lie alongside islands of dichotomous honesty, a handful of Frank Odd’s spirolaterals, and family members of guessable ages. Largely, there is no math required for these; just ascertain the final motion or next position. As such, these puzzles are often visually as well as intellectually stimulating. Such challenges make for show more good material to project as a lecture aid, or private musing. The target audience seems to be those looking to sharpen the mind without often being required to sharpen a pencil.

Innovator Ivan Moscovich's number puzzles are as spectacular looking as they are stimulating. Moscovich has been designing and inventing inspired puzzles, games, toys, teaching aids, and hands-on science museum exhibits for the past 50 years.
For the Mastermind Collection, Moscovich has gathered many of his ingenious inventions, as well as imaginative mind bogglers created by other remarkable puzzlemakers. This series covers a wide range of mathematical ideas, through both classic and show more original puzzles, games, problems and more.
Brain-Flexing Balance Problems and Other Puzzles includes "Hiroimono," a game where the object is to fill all the circles in a grid with consecutive numbers, and "Four Fours," a puzzle that requires adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers.
These imaginative puzzles are a treat for the eye and the mind.

This book is a large format book with a spiral binding. Each page is laid out in separate panels of various sizes, each panel corresponding to a puzzle. Each puzzle has a, usually very well thought out, illustration associated with it. The puzzles also have a cute system of icons indicating difficulty, but also other characteristics of the puzzle, for example, if you should expect to have to do some drawing. There is a smaller version of this book containing only 500+ puzzles, which might show more seem a little less daunting. The book is an impressive achievement, and very enjoyable. show less
This type of book is my favorite type of book because I am not a big reader and I love puzzles. This book combines science, math, and art to create puzzles for students to solve. The puzzles are divided into sections and are ranked based on the difficulty level of the puzzle.
