DO NOT make the mistake I did with this one. It is a terrible, terrible read - the plot is non-existent, the story jumps all over creation.
Why? Simple, this is NOT a novel, this is an encyclopedia of the first films and ST serials.
You will not find the novels included, nor Voyager & Enterprise.
But for what was out when this book was printed - it's an excellent coverage of the Star Trek Universe.
The appendixes include all novels printed to date of publication, with their publishers, the show more episodes in the serials, and a bibliography of books where you can find more Trek Trivia show less
Lots of interesting facts and trivia about the main characters and their backgrounds, transcripts of interviews with the producers, creators and actors at various conventions, and a brief summary of the episodes. Although some of it may be a little dated, and some of it may be a little underwhelming (much more detailed episode information can - for instance - be found on the internet these days), it is still a nice enough book and fun to while away a little time and get your Quantum Leap show more geek on. Not an essential book to own, but not a bad one if you like the show and/or books. The transcripts are quite fun - would have liked more, really. And pictures would have been great. All in all, a good enough book for its day. show less
Meh. Written while the series was still on, so no discussion of the confusing final episode. Useful episode guide for those "in the can." A few too many Q&A chapters, where the actors and writers answer the same questions too many times. No pictures.
