With the introduction of another view into Talk, namely 'Started by you', I'd like to see a discussion about possible re-ordering of these links on the left hand sub-nav.

My personal preference would be:

Your groups
Your starred
Favourite messages
Started by you
(more)
Your books
Your posts
Ignored

The thinking behind the ones above the (more) are that they are views that I have had a say in. I joined those groups, I starred those threads, I marked those posts as favourites and I started those threads.

Below the (more), I've put the ones that I don't use. Naturally YMMV.

Discuss, using both sides of the paper.

Following threads you started, but not ones you contribute to is not a universalizable!

You made that word up, didn't you?

I use Your groups and Your starred to follow threads that I'm active in.

I use Favourite messages as reference material, usually to great HTML hints. I seem to have a very specific case of CRAFT when it comes to HTML.

I will use Started by you, now that we have it, probably for research. Usage may develop further with time.

If I didn't know the customization feature of the works page was one of your least favorite bits of code, I'd suggest making the order customizable rather than one-size-sorta-fits-all.

But I wouldn't suggest that.

Nope.

I agree that it would be wonderful to have 'your groups' and 'your starred' at the top.

Adding 'Started by you' is great, but putting it in the middle has made it harder to find the links I am used to going to.

Just wanted to mention that 'Your Posts' is my most used tab. I used to star the threads I started, so I am happy with the new tab. I only use the Your Groups and Hot Topics when I am bored...

I am very grateful to have new ways to enter talk.. and I appreciate the effort it took to give them to us. I spend no time at all finding the one that suits me at the moment, and am quite happy to have them in any order that I find them. Thank you so much!

I definitely want to keep Your Posts shown, not under More.

Like divinenanny, "Your posts" is the view I use most often. While I love the new "Started by you" option, I don't see it changing that fact.

I think the current sort is logical. It goes from the larger world to the smaller. I'd leave it. (I certainly wouldn't want "your starred" at the top, as I have yet to star a thread, other than accidentally!)

Another vote for having "Your posts" within immediate access.

I just like the title of this thread.

The list is short and available on one screen without scrolling. What earthly difference does it make what order it's in? Just click on what you want, wherever it is.

@13 This is a site for cataloging so a lot of people here find order and structure very important.

Well, so do I. I love cataloging. But this one seems really minor.

There was a suggestion a while ago to have some sort of link that combined "Your Groups, Your Starred, and Your Posts" into just one link. (This was before the "You Started" or whatever it is.)

I'd have to say I'd much prefer to have that link exist and have it be the top one.

Then I guess I probably use your groups/posts/starred about equal. Your books is pretty much useless and could be relegated to the bottom of the heap.

18> I've suggested it a couple of times. Doubtless others have, too. Here's mine:
