Atheism is a non-prophet organization.

A preacher had just finished explaining to a group of children in Sunday School that Jesus was the key to getting to heaven and the importance of asking him into their heart.

To test whether the lesson was learned he asked, "What do you need to get to heaven?"

The brave boy who answered boldly said, "You need to be dead."

Paul Newman founded the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp for children stricken with cancer, AIDS, and blood diseases. One afternoon, he and his wife, Joanne Woodward, stopped by to have lunch with the kids.

A counselor at a nearby table, suspecting the young patients wouldn't know Newman was a famous movie star, explained, '"That's the man who made this camp possible.

A man died, and before the funeral his brother showed up in the pastor's office.

"Preacher," he said, "at the funeral, I want you to say my brother is a saint in your remarks."

"I can't do that," said the pastor. "It would be an outright lie. You know what your brother was like."

"Look, preacher, I own the bank that holds the note on your mortgage. If you don't say my brother is a saint, we will call the note, and drive you out of business."

So at the funeral, the pastor says, "The deceased was a known womanizer. He drank like a fish, and was a crooked businessman. He abandoned his wife and family. But compared to his brother, he was a saint."

There was a Norwegian immigrant who worked hard all his life on his North Dakota farm. He had saved all his money and was a real miser.

Just before he died, he told his beautiful Norwegian wife, “When I die, I want you to take all my money and put it in the casket with me. I want to take my money into the afterlife with me.”

He got his wife to promise him, with all her heart, that she would put all of the money into the casket with him when he died.

When he died, he was stretched out in the casket. His wife was sitting there all dressed in black. Her best friend was sitting next to her.

When they finished the funeral and just before the casket was closed, the wife exclaimed, “Wait just a moment!”

She has a small metal box with her, and she came over with the box and placed it in the casket.

The undertaker locked the casket and rolled it away. Her astonished friend said, “Girl, I know you are not fool enough to put all that money in there with your husband!”

The loyal wife replied, “Listen, I am a Norwegian Lutheran and I cannot go back on my word. I promised him that I was going to put that money in the casket with him.”

“You mean to tell me you really did put that money in the casket with him?”

“I sure did, replied the wife, I got it all together and put it into my account. I wrote him a check. If he can cash it, he can spend it!

Because there are wheels and three men on the truck.

Four times three is 12.

There are 12 inches on a ruler.

Queen Elizabeth is also a ship.

God Bless Texas ....

President Barack Obama was in the Oval Office when his telephone rang.

"Hello, President Obama," a heavily accented southern voice said. "This is Archie, down here at the Joe's Crab Shack, Houston Texas , I am callin' to tell y’all that we are officially declaring war on ya!"

"Well Archie," Barack replied, "This is indeed important news! How big is your army?"

"Right now," said Archie, after a moments calculation "there is myself, my cousin Harold, my next-door-neighbor Randy, and the whole dart team from Hooters. That makes eight!"

Barack paused. "I must tell you Archie that I have one million men in my army waiting to move on my command."

"Wow," said Archie. "I'll have to call ya back!"

Sure enough, the next day, Archie called again. "Mr. Obama, the war is still on! We have managed to acquire some infantry equipment!"

"And what equipment would that be Archie?" Barack asked.

"Well sir, we have two combines, a bulldozer, and Harry's farm tractor."

President Obama sighed. "I must tell you Archie, that I have 16,000 tanks and 14,000 armored personnel carriers. Also I've increased my army to one and a half million since we last spoke."

"Lord above", said Archie, "I'll be getting back to ya."

Sure enough, Archie rang again the next day. "President Obama, the war is still on! We have managed to get ourselves airborne! We up and modified Harold’s ultra-light with a couple of shotguns in the cockpit, and four boys from the Legion have joined us as well!"

Barack was silent for a minute then cleared his throat. "I must tell you Archie that I have 10,000 bombers and 20,000 fighter planes. My military complex is surrounded by laser-guided, surface-to-air missile sites. And since we last spoke, I've increased my army to TWO MILLION!"

"Oh Lord," said Archie, "l'll have to call you back."

Sure enough, Archie called again the next day. President Obama! "I am sorry to have to tell you that we have had to call off this here war."

"I'm sorry to hear that" said Barack. "Why the sudden change of heart?"

Well, sir," said Archie, "we've all sat ourselves down and had a long chat over a few beers, and come to realize that there's just no way we can feed two million prisoners . . ."

The local news station was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just been married for the fourth time.

The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband's occupation. "He's a funeral director," she answered.

"Interesting," the newsman thought.

He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years.

After a short time, a smile came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she had first married a banker when she was in her early 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, and a preacher when in her 60's, and now in her 80's, a funeral director.

The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.

(wait for it)

She smiled and explained, "I married one for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go."

We were dressed and ready to go out for the New Year's Eve Party. We turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on, covered our pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard.

We phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi. The taxi arrived and we opened the front door to leave the house. As we walked out the door, the cat we had put out in the yard, scooted back into the house. We didn't want the cat shut in the house because she always tries to eat the bird. My wife went on out to the taxi, while I went back inside to get the cat.
The cat ran upstairs, with me in hot pursuit.

Waiting in the cab, my wife didn't want the driver to know that the house would be empty for the night, so she explained to the taxi driver that I would be out soon, saying 'He's just going upstairs to say Goodbye to my mother.'

A few minutes later, I got into the cab. 'Sorry I took so long,' I said, as we drove away. 'That stupid bitch was hiding under the bed. I had to poke her ass with a coat hanger to get her to come out! She tried to take off, so I grabbed her by the neck. Then, I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me. But it worked! I hauled her fat ass downstairs
and threw her out into the back yard! She'd better not shit in the vegetable garden again!

The silence in the cab was deafening.

In honor of Speak Like a Pirate Day:

So, a pirate walks into a bar. Looks like the quintessential pirate -- peg leg, hook on one hand, eye patch, the whole nine yards. In addition to all this, he's got a steering wheel hanging from the fly of his pants.

He walks up to the bar, and orders a whiskey. The bartender pours the pirate a glass, and says to him "I don't want to offend, but I thought you should know -- you've got a steering wheel attached to your fly." The pirate nods his head, and says:

"Arrrgh, I know. It's driving me nuts."

My job is keeping him focused on the search and not allowing him to get too comfortable with his current employment. After a week in the role he is starting to realise that it is tiring work, so perhaps "comfortable" is not something he's going to feel.

I shouldn't have to tell you, but... this joke is bad.

***

Do you fart in bed?

This is a story about a couple who had been happily married for years. The only friction in their marriage was the husband's habit of farting loudly every morning when he awoke. the noise would wake his wife and the smell would make her eyes water and make her gasp for air.

Every morning she would plead with him to stop ripping them off because it was making her sick.

He told her he couldn't stop it and that it was perfectly natural. She told him to see a doctor, she was concerned that one day he would blow his guts out.

The years went by and he continued to rip them out. then one Christmas day morning, as she was preparing the turkey for dinner and he was upstairs sound asleep, she looked at the innards, neck, gizzard, liver and all the spare parts, and a malicious thought came to her.

She took the bowl and went upstairs where her husband was sound asleep and, gently pulling the bed covers back, she pulled back the elastic waistband of his underpants and emptied the bowl of turkey guts into his shorts..

Some time later she heard her husband waken with his usual trumpeting which was followed by a blood curdling scream and the sound of frantic footsteps as he ran into the bath room..

The wife could hardly control herself as she rolled on the floor laughing, tears in her eyes! After years of torture, she reckoned she had got him back pretty good.

About twenty minutes later, her husband came downstairs in his bloodstained underpants with a look of horror on his face.

She bit her lip as she asked him what was the matter. He said, 'Honey you were right. All these years you have warned me and I didn't listen to you'.

'What do you mean?' asked his wife.

'Well, you always told me that one day I would end up farting my guts out and today it finally happened.

But by the grace of God, with some Vaseline and two fingers, I think I got most of them back in.

Why Rednecks Make Good Soldiers
Dear Ma & Pa:
Am well. Hope you are. Tell brother Walt & brother Elmer the Marine Corps beats working for old man Minch by a mile. Tell them to join up quick before maybe all of the places are filled.
I was restless at first because you got to stay in bed till nearly 6 a.m., but am getting so I like to sleep late. Tell Walt & Elmer all you do before breakfast is smooth your cot and shine some things. No hogs to slop, feed to pitch, mash to mix, wood to split, fire to lay. Practically nothing. Men got to shave but it is not so bad, they git warm water.
Breakfast is strong on trimmings like fruit juice, cereal, eggs, bacon, etc..., but kind of weak on chops, potatoes, ham, steak, fried eggplant, pie, and other regular food. But tell Walt & Elmer you can always sit between two city boys that live on coffee. Their food plus yours holds you till noon, when you get fed again. It's no wonder these city boys can't walk much.
We go on "route" marches, which the Platoon Sergeant says are long walks to harden us. If he thinks so, it is not my place to tell him different. A "route march" is about as far as to our mailbox at home. Then the city guys gets sore feet and we all ride back in trucks. The country is nice, but awful flat.
The Sergeant is like a schoolteacher. He nags some. The Capt. is like the school board. Majors & Colonels just ride around & frown. They don't bother you none.
This next will kill Walt & Elmer with laughing. I keep getting medals for shooting. I don't know why. The bulls-eye is near as big as a chipmunk and don't move. And it ain't shooting at you, like the Higgett boys at home. All you got to do is lie there all comfortable and hit it. You don't even load your own cartridges. They come in boxes.
Be sure to tell Walt & Elmer to hurry & join before other fellers get into this setup & come stampeding in.
Your loving daughter, Gail

Not only is that how I've been folding my fitted sheets for the past 40 years, but once I have the fitted sheet folded, and the pillow slips, I lay the folded flat sheet out when it is the width of the folded fitted sheet, and about 3 times as long.

I then put the fitted sheet and the pillow slips on top of the flat sheet, and fold/roll the flat sheet over the other items until I have a nice neat bundle for the linen cubbard.

I've also been doing that for 40 years. It's lovely not to have to dig through linens to find matching pillow slips, or flat and fitted sheets. Yes it's a bit anal, but time saving, nontheless.

21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

22. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.

True story: My preschool girls ages 4 and 3 were playing Big Sister and Baby Sister. Carmela, the youngest and very independent consented to be Baby Sister, reluctantly. In the midst of the game she needed a tissue for her nose and came over to where our class box of tissues is with the other girls following and fussing saying "here Baby we will help you" and basically getting in her way, whereupon my darling little Independent girl said "I can blow my nose, myself, Thank you!" The other girl girls backed off in surprise and Carmela attended to her nose and went back to the game.

An older married couple was at home watching TV. The husband had the remote and was switching back and forth between a fishing channel and the porn channel.

The wife became more and more annoyed and finally said:

"For Goodness' sake! Leave it on the porn channel. You already know how to fish!"

Here's one my sister sent me:

A married couple was in a terrible accident where the man's face was severely burned.

The doctor told the husband that they couldn't graft any skin from his body because he was too skinny.

So the wife offered to donate some of her own skin.

However, the only skin on her body that the doctor felt was suitable would have to come from her buttocks. The husband and wife agreed that they would tell no one about where the skin came from, and they requested that the doctor also honour their secret.

After all, this was a very delicate matter. After the surgery was completed, everyone was astounded at the man's new face.

He looked more handsome than he ever had before! All his friends and relatives just went on and on about his youthful beauty! One day, he was alone with his wife, and he was overcome with emotion at her sacrifice. He said, 'Dear, I just want to thank you for everything you did for me. How can I possibly repay you?'

My darling,' she replied, 'I get all the thanks I need every time I see your mother kiss you on the cheek.'

WARNING RUDE JOKE but very topical particularly here in the UK and no doubt lots of other places too;

little boy goes to his dad and asks, "What is politics?"

Dad says, "Well son, let me try to explain it this way: I'm the breadwinner of the family, so let's call me capitalism. Your Mom, she's the administrator of the money, so we'll call her the Government. We're here to take care of your needs, so we'll call you the people. The nanny, we'll consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we'll call him the Future. Now, think about that and see if that makes sense,"

So the little boy goes off to bed thinking about what dad had said.

Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severely soiled his diaper. So the little boy goes to his parents' room and finds his mother sound asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny's room. Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed. The next morning, the little boy says to his father, "Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now."

The father says, "Good son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about."

The little boy replies, "Well, while Capitalism is screwing the Working Class, the Government is sound asleep, the People are being ignored and the Future is in deep sh*t."

It was a cold winter day, when an old man walked out onto a frozen lake, cut a hole in the ice, dropped in his fishing line and began waiting for a fish to bite.

He was there for almost an hour without even a nibble when a young boy walked out onto the ice, cut a hole in the ice not too far from the old man and dropped in his fishing line. It only took about a minute and WHAM! a Largemouth Bass hit his hook and the boy pulled in the fish.

The old man couldn't believe it but figured it was just luck. But, the boy dropped in his line and again within just a few minutes pulled in another one.

This went on and on until finally the old man couldn't take it any more since he hadn't caught a thing all this time.

He went to the boy and said, "Son, I've been here for over an hour without even a nibble. You have been here only a few minutes and have caught about half a dozen fish! How do you do it?"

The boy responded, "Roo raf roo reep ra rums rarm."

"What was that?" the old man asked.

Again the boy responded, "Roo raf roo reep ra rums rarm."

"Look," said the old man, "I can't understand a word you are saying."

So, the boy spit into his hand and said, "You have to keep the worms warm!"
