I just wandered through the list of ER books I have received, and am amazed at how many I really loved, often books I would not have known about without LT. Some of my favorites are:
Behind the Beautiful Forevers
The Language of Flowers
The Homecoming of Samuel Lake
and
Manifest Injustice
I've had a couple I didn't much like, too, but with all of them, I can see why LT thought I would like them.
What are other winners' favorite ER books?

Thanks, TBR, for suggesting that we look at our ER books. I see that I've received some really fine ones, many of which I would not have read or would not have read so soon had it not been for ER.
Bring Up the Bodies - I'm still ecstatic that I received this one!
Purgatory - Wonderful! Would never have read it otherwise
Arcadia
Essays of Elia
Reamde - Such fun!
The Spare Room
Percival's Planet

The Wet and the Dry Most amusing.
The Whole Fromage An all-American girl grew-up in France to know that velveeta was not the best cheese.
Shadows on the Gulf Scary ecology on our local shores.
The Other British Isles, David Moore - but he did not mention mine!
So, I agree, you can get books you'd probably never buy yourself, but which prove to be well worthwhile reading.

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Hands down one of my favorite books ever.

Hmmm ... while there have been a few "really good" books of the nearly 50 titles I've gotten via LTER, most of them have been in the "meh" range, with a number of real stinkers. Of course, I don't do fiction, so am a lot more critical about the quality of the info in the non-fiction that I get. I can only think of one, offhand, that I've recommended to associates ... Antifragile

Great thread! My favourites:
When the lights went out: Britain in the Seventies
The Flying Troutmans
Being Emily
Gents

Can't remember if it was ER or member giveaway, but another nice surprise was 600 Hours of Edward by Craig Lancaster. Was pleased to see that he's written a sequel, Edward Adrift.

I've been fortunate to receive many ER books I enjoyed. My very favorites are:
Imperfect Harmony by Stacy Horn
Love Saves the Day by Gwen Cooper
and
A Cat's Life: Dulcy's Story & A Cat's Legacy: Dulcy's Story by Dee Ready

I've received mainly books I enjoyed (although there have been a few duds), but the favorites are Embassytown and The Book of the Unknown.

Three ER books stand out for me...
On Hallowed Ground by Robert M. Poole
Rawhide Down by Del Quentin Wilber
Venetia Kelly's Traveling Show by Frank Delaney
I have also purchased and liked several books that I had seen on LTER. This program is much appreciated.

My favorite is "No One is Here Except All of Us" by Ramona Ausubel, an unusually beautiful debut novel based on the author's family history.
A wonderfully illustrated
"The Hunting of the Snark by Lewis Carroll is a true treasure.
I appreciate the program very much.

Thanks for all the input, everyone. I'm a literary voyeur and love to see what other people enjoy reading.

Lot of good ones and a few clunkers, but my favorites are The Secret Soldier by Alex Berenson and Bleed for Me by Michael Robotham because they introduced me to authors I may not have otherwise sampled and have subsequently become favorite authors of mine. Particularly Robotham who I think is enormously talented and almost criminally underrated.

So Many Ways to Begin by Jon McGregor because while I didn't like the first ER book from him, I recognized he has talent and so when I snagged another one I was thrilled and I liked it much more than the first, which truth be told, I couldn't finish.
and
The Stranger You Seek by Amanda Kyle Williams. A breath of fresh air for a die-hard thriller reader. The start of a new series (of course), but somehow she created a main character I could like easily, peppered her story with black humor and respected my smarts as a reader.

This is a great thread! Of the 26 ER books I've received, I've read 22 of them so far. Most were really good (especially the fiction). Here are my favorites:
A Partial History of Lost Causes
Behind the Beautiful Forevers
The Might-Have-Been
Charlotte Street
Knock, Knock
& Sons
Like others have mentioned, I would likely have not read these books if it wasn't for ER. Hopefully my positive reviews encouraged other LibraryThingers to read these excellent books as well.

Love reading about all these favorite ER books! So far, my faves have been:
The Lace Reader, by Brunonia Barry
The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society, by Barrows & Shaffer
Mr. White's Confession, by Robert Clark
Skios, by Michael Frayn
The Bartender's Tale, by Ivan Doig
And out of the other ER books I've received only a few have turned out to be not to my liking. Thank you, LT!

oooooh, Mr. White's Confession. That's a good one. I wish he'd write more. I've read a couple of his other books and the man can write!
I didn't like Skios much though, I admit. I'd read and liked another of Frayn's books, but that one just didn't hit me the right way.
I've heard of Ivan Doig a lot lately and so no doubt one of his books will end up on Mount TBR.

I love the ER program! Yes, there have been some clunkers, but the few gems more than make up for any number of less-than-stellar reads. The best of them are:
The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society by Barrows & Shaffer
Mr. White's Confession by Robert Clark
Hand of Isis by Jo Graham
The Last Policeman by Ben H. Winters
The Beggar's Opera by Peggy Blair
I didn't know Clark had written other novels; I'll have to look into that. I sure wish Barrows & Schaffer had written another. Guernsey is one of my all-time favorites.

I've received 12 ER books so far, and reviewed 10 of them.
The highest rating I've given was for Space Magic followed by That Which Should Not Be and Dark Currents.
I rated these two slightly lower, but my impressions of both have improved over time, and I will definitely re-read them at some point: The Pure Cold Light and Three Messages and a Warning: Contemporary Mexican Short Stories of the Fantastic
I'm currently reading Glitter & Mayhem, and if the rest of the stories match up to the first few, it could equal Space Magic.

I know one of the authors of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society died not long after it came out, but I wonder if the other could be cajoled into a sequel?

My best-loved ER books are:
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford
Chalk Girl by Carol O'Connell
Say You're Sorry by Michael Robotham

For those who have loved Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, you'll probably want to read Songs of Willow Frost if you haven't already. I liked it much less than Hotel... but your mileage may vary.
