If you're waiting on an Early Reviewers book, and it's been more than eight weeks since you were notified of your win, be sure to mark it as "not received" in our system. You can do this by heading over to the Early Reviewers page and clicking the "Books you've won" tab at the top of the page. This will take you to a list of all your Early Reviewers wins. After that eight week mark, a link will appear next to the book reading "I haven't received this book yet." Clicking this link alerts me to contact the publisher.

Finally got Year of the Dunk after contacting the publisher.

The recent no-show was Headstrong by Rachel Swaby from the January 2015 batch ... I'm hoping that's just delayed for some reason (although, looking at its page on the system, a LOT of people have it and 21 reviews are up - so I may have just not gotten a copy!).

The other no-show (that I've pretty much written off at this point) is Educating for Creativity and Innovation: A Comprehensive Guide for Research-Based Practice by Edwin C. Selby from way back in November 2012.

I still have not received Last One Home by Debbie Macomber from the January 2015 batch. Any news on it?

For those of you who haven't yet received Ruby by Cynthia Bond from the January batch, do write to the publisher and tell them. I emailed them on Thursday, received an email right back saying they were sorry and were sending it right out to me. They overnighted it to me by UPS and I received it on Friday!! The LibraryThing wins obviously just got lost in the shuffle.

I have still not received G.I. Brides from the June 2014 batch. I've pretty much given up on it. Is the William Morrow Company very often unreliable?

I still haven't received a copy of Unfair from the January batch. I see that it is listed again for May, though, so maybe I'll get lucky again?

I haven't recieved Lusitania from January yet.

I also never received Black Water by {Bobby Norman}. I wrote to the publishers because that is one I REALLY wanted to read and their response was:

"We are running behind on shipping our book Steve. Those reviews were probably from the e-book winners.

We should be caught up by the end of April. Taxes and such sucked away too much of our time it seems.

Sorry for the delay." So hopefully it will come soon. I'm still not sure who Steve is though ;)

I've still never received Gary Krist's Empire of Sin from the August 2015 batch but I notice that they're again offering this book as an ER book. Hope this month's winners have better luck than we did with the August batch.

Note that I borrowed a copy from the library and have already read it.

I won't officially have "still not received" it until the end of the month. But I'm anxious to get, read, and review All the Days and Nights by Niven Govinden.

There are request I won in 2013 that I've yet to receive. I gave up on requesting ebooks because in the past no notifications from the publisher came, or the links were unreliable, or the downloads were corrupted.

I'm wondering if I just got passed over for a copy of Headstrong by Rachel Swaby from the January batch.

I'm usually fine for waiting months and months for books to come in (I had one that didn't show up for 14 months!), but in this case 53 members have the book, and there are already 22 reviews (mainly LTER) up, making me think that my copy simply missed me.

For most LTER books, I'd shrug it off, but as I have a daughter who's an engineering student, I was VERY interested in getting this book. What's the protocol in these situations? Should I contact the publisher?

I truly believe that South Dakota Historical Society Press will honor their commitment to sending out Pioneer Girl. The book was more popular than they ever anticipated. I think it is worth a try to ask them about it again. They are getting more caught up with printing and distribution from what I understand. Although I've seen the book, I have not read it yet in hopes that I will still get my copy won here at Library Thing.

Last One Home update: Random House tells me there was a shift in staff that led to this one falling through the cracks. Those will finally be sent within a week or so. I'll post here again if I have further updates on that.

Just marked All the Days and Nights by Niven Govinden as not yet received from the March batch. Really was so excited to read this one and hoping to receive it one day soon.

Just marked Divine Scream as unreceived, but based on previous experience I expect it'll arrive on Monday or Tuesday.

ETA: Well I was wrong, Tuesday is over and it's still not here.

I missed the comments about Ruby, but was able to track down someone at the publisher who sent it to me by UPS and it came in only a day or two. I am so glad I did because it was wonderful!

Has anyone ever received The Gone Dead Train? I see some people have it in their libraries but there are no reviews. This leads me to believe that no Early Reviewers every received their copies. I tried contacting the publisher, but just got the run around from them.

@lorannen I still have not received my November 2014 copy of Pioneer Girl, and I've just moved. If the publisher decides to go ahead and send these out, do you know if they'll check back with you for current addresses, or use addresses that were provided to them in November? Should I try contacting them myself? I'm hoping the book would forward, but I would hate to miss it if it doesn't.

Same here. Pretty disappointed; I won The Empire Striketh Back last year, and it arrived a mere 2 weeks after I received the ER winner notification! Plus, as has been said, the book's been out for over 2 months now, and I passed up on a good deal (1/3 off) at the local store because I was expecting it in the mail.

I never received This is Sadie from the April 2015 batch. I'm so disappointed. I was really looking forward to reading it.

No sign of American Meteor yet from the April list. I'm looking forward to getting it soon.

Since I still haven't received my March win, All the Days and Nights by Niven Govinden and know of another winner who hasn't, I wrote to the publisher Harper Collins and received this reply:

I have not received my March book Vanessa and Her Sister: A Novel by Priya Parmar

I've still not received Lit Up Inside by Van Morrison since last October, one of the Early Reviewer books that I was particularly keen to receive. I see I'm not alone in not having got the promised copy - anything that can be done for us?

I've been dwelling on the threshold, waiting for the postman, the way that young lovers do when they're waiting for a sweet thing, but so far he ain't give me none. Have I told you lately that I've been looking down the road, Cypress Avenue, wondering who drove the red sports car and whether they might be delivering my book. Sometimes I cry, because when you said I'd won Van's book, it was such a wonderful remark. I'd be so satisfied to receive it, it's what makes my Irish heart beat, but it seems that talk is cheap and you've just stolen my heart away. Man has to struggle against the evening shadows; the beauty of days gone by seem like only a dream. It's a great deception that makes my lonely sad eyes wild, honey. Will I find the haunts of ancient peace where I can bask in the warm love of Morrison's verse? Why must I explain? I know it's all in the game, but it stoned me like a full force gale. Will you come running with the glad tidings that I will receive my book? That would be like a brand new day! It would give me my rapture! If you only knew how my evening meditation is filled with Aryan mist, clouding my mind so that I forget that love existed. What a beautiful vision, to see my book arrive, but I'm not feeling it anymore. The street choir is singing, trying to give me some peace of mind, but if I ever needed someone, it's the postman. It's a mystery why you just can't win. I'll wait, though, under the redwood tree by the Spanish Steps. I will be there, like the ancient of days, listening to the lion and hoping to look through the master's eyes. Please, allow me to be a new kind of man. I've been too long in exile. As always, its free, so I'll take what (and more importantly) when I can get it. :)

I still have not received my copy of Elena Vanishing either... It is getting difficult to get excited about winning an early reviewer when only about a third of them show up, & it seems like the ones you want the most are the ones that never seem to show up.
I marked it as not received, but have not heard anything back yet.

Are there any updates about Beyond the Pale (Harper 360) from the March batch?

I've done a little digging and feel more hopeful. Although the April release seems to be right for the US, Harper 360 seems to be a UK subsidiary, and Amazon.co.uk lists August, and is accepting preorders.

Maybe if they were reminded now?

I think I'm just gonna give up on William Shakespeare's The Phantom of Menace: I'll pick it up for $6 tomorrow with my Half Price Books 50% off coupon. Heck, the next book's even out already!

@101/102: Yeah, but this is a rare exception for me, as it was already a high priority on my wishlist before its ER availability was even announced.

With only one or two exceptions, I don't think there've been any LTER books that I would have actually BOUGHT. The vast majority of them have been "oh, yeah, I'll read that" and not "OMG - I have to have this book!" ... maybe it's because I don't read fiction, and it's hard to get emotionally involved on the arrival or non-arrival of, say, a military history book. Frankly, out of the 70 or so books I've gotten via LTER, I think $0.00 was a rather appropriate price for at least 60 of 'em.

Most of the ER books I have received have been ones I would not have known about without ER. Some I would have bought if I had seen them. Most probably not.

I've had a lot of luck emailing the author and letting them know that I haven't received books that I have won. It's hard when for instance, May's win, NEWPORT by Jill Morrow, has been reviewed 19 times on GoodReads and it just hit the shelves this week. Arc's were sent to the people who won them on Goodreads but not LibraryThing. This is how it's been for a year now. Why is that?

I have not received Vanessa and Her Sister from the March batch. I have been very lucky, though, and have received many wonderful books because of LibraryThing!!!

I also didn't receive Newport. On Goodreads you can report a book missing after one month. On LibraryThing you have to wait two months. In my experience, if a book hasn't come in 4 weeks it's never going to come unless you follow up on it. I've received a higher percentage of my wins on GR than I have on LT.

The only book I didn't receive, I ended up checking out from the library. I'm not going to pay for it or write a review, but I was still interested in it.

I've had one LTER book show up 14 months after it was featured, and there have been numerous titles that did not arrive for 3-4 months or more. If a LTER book gets here within 4 weeks, I'm, frankly, surprised ... I did have one get here within a week (the PR office for the publisher must have been anxiously awaiting the list!), but most come in within a couple of weeks of when they'd be "late".

@112: Thanks for the heads-up! I did end up buying the book yesterday anyway (as well as the next book: $6 each is a steal, and it was a 1-day-only coupon) but I have no regrets. I'll make sure to review the book, and then when it arrives in the mail I'll have a copy to give to a friend. :)

Dear God, here we go again with the apocryphal "I got the book after 14 months" -- even if you did, how is that acceptable? This is not a knock on Loranne or LT, it is a knock on the publishers not living up to their agreements. It has also been my experience that if the book has not showed up before the next batch is announced (roughly four weeks), it will not be arriving.

I live on the other side of the country from where most books are published, so it's actually not common for me to receive my books in 4 weeks.

I've been participating in the ER program for several years now, and my experience has been that most of my books have come in about 6-8 weeks, with a few coming after 12 weeks, so I usually don't assume a book isn't coming until about 4 months have passed without book or announcement of a delay.

I was supposed to receive Just Like I Wanted (which I was very excited about), and somehow received Little Big by Jonathan Bentley. I can review it too, but it's in pretty sad shape as well.

Kirby, the opposite happened to me!

Was your copy too a glorified stack of papers?

Re. #115 ... Hey, just saying "this happened" and thereby suggesting that "it ain't over till it's over" - or LT staff says it's probably not coming.

ETA: I also like to read the books to my class and get their opinions to include in my reviews, but there is no chance of that. I don't ever remember receiving a book in this condition. I was really looking forward to Just Like I Wanted. :(

A Question for LTER Admins: If a publisher fails to deliver as promised and also has a history of iffy delivery, are they sustained or retired from contributing to the LTER program?

I notice one or two books listed each month have already been released in other countries before appearing for ER here. If those books get a good press abroad, are publishers less inclined to want reviews from American readers, feeling they have enough blurbs and buzz for marketing purposes?

Anyone?

Just a quick note to update some of these: I'm going back to January and working forward in time through there now and pestering publishers again. Hopefully that should get some of these to shake out. I'll post updates as I hear back from publishers!

>124 Limelite: Good question. We do keep stats on publishers' fulfillment of ER deliveries—in cases where there is continuous failure to get copies to their winners, we do remove them from the program.

With regard to releases abroad, that's another good question! As I understand it, books sometimes have entirely different publishers between countries. The same label isn't always representing the title across the globe. Even when a book does maintain the same label, there are different branches of the publishing houses, which operate within separate countries. I don't think they take press abroad into account for something like ER.

I contacted the publisher of Elena Vanishing directly-- twice. Once through email and once through facebook. They only responded to me on facebook. They said the book is now on it's way after waiting months. Will update if/when the book comes.

I've removed myself from Early Reviewers, there seems to be no prospect of either getting Lit Up Inside or even getting any feedback from LT about it, and there have been so very few books on ER that interest me so there seems no point.

I wrote to South Dakota State Historical Society, and was told that all the e-mails from LibraryThing regarding Pioneer Girl: The Annotated Autobiography had gone straight to spam, and that no one had noticed this until I e-mailed. The books should be on their way soon!

Finally (!) received Elena Vanishing...after four months one would think they could have the consideration to send an actual finished copy, but I guess after all this time I was lucky to have gotten the ARC. I do not know if it is because LibrayThing contacted them twice, or because I contacted the publisher direct.

I recently received The Big Bad Book of Bill Murray, which is fine, it was on my request list, but the book I had won was actually Pop Sonnets. If I don't receive the book I won, is this going to reflect on my review record? Because I never received Understanding Minecraft from the December 2014 batch and I wondered if that was why I won less books this year. I just updated the never received for that one.

I also received The Big Bad Book of Bill Murray when I actually won Pop Sonnets. I'm still waiting on William Shakespeare's The Phantom of Menace from April as well. I love Quirk so I hope they get back on track soon.

A note on the above:

Typically, I don't respond directly to every single post in the Unreceived Books thread, but this does not mean that I'm not on top of reminding the publishers. You may notice me saying things like "I'm sending out reminders to publishers for April and May books," which covers multiple posts/reports of unreceived books.

I have a spreadsheet that I update daily with all my unreceived books reports, with who's reporting, the title, the batch it was offered in, and other details, and I go through that spreadsheet once/week. (This is on top of monitoring books marked as received/not received.)

I itemized things this time around, and responded directly to a bunch of posts today because I had some random catching up I needed to do, as I've been a little busy lately. As of today, I'm caught up and have sent reminders to all the publishers of books reported in this thread.

I have received an eBook copy of this when I requested a print version. So technically I didn't receive this book yet. I don't have any type or form of eReader so I am not able to read this book at all. I know this for a fact as I only enter for print copies. I am also missing Me, My Hair, and I from the August batch, which I am sad about because it sounds really excellent.

Add in Marina* from the Hachette batch and Dealing with Diabetes Burnout from June of last year.

*I strongly suspect Marina was actually stolen from my mailbox, though, as we have a nasty mail theft issue in my area. It's also possible something was sent to another house on the mail route with the same house number. Mail service around here is...not good.

I did not receive Keep Calm from the October batch and I Almost Forgot About You from the November batch.

Correction: My address changed at the beginning of November, so this should have said that it changed since the October batch closed. I changed it on the website at the beginning of November.

This isn't about an unreceived book but I didn't know where to put this. A book I didn't know I won, which was generously 2 copies, went to the wrong address. And the people at the other address are seasonal residents, as in summer. But they were here today to check on their house and a package was there for me but had their house # on it. And the bad part is the package was on their porch and got soaked all the way through.

The book were sent to 14 N 12th St. Instead of 13. I Checked my er address just in case but it has the right one.

Right now I have one of the books in a pillow case in the dryer.

If it's possible to get a new one sent to 13 N 12th St, that would be wonderful.

P.S. The dryer didn't work.

The package contained 2 copies of Wreck and Order. On the enclose slip it said it was November library thing.

This is a revised post because originally I assumed it was the Dec. book until I looked it up and then finally read the packing slip.

The few reveiws there are for this on LT are pretty bad so if I just got them because they were extra, that's fine. They aren't listed as books I won so whatever you decide is fine.

It looks I'm in a group with others who did not receive Fortune Smiles by Adam Johnson (Random House) from the August '15 batch. I had marked it as not received. I was fortunate enough to check it out of the public library so I'm going to review it anyway. I still hope that the publisher will send these out some day - I absolutely would love to receive a copy. I'll sing its praises in the meantime!

Has anyone who won Pop Sonnets from the July 2015 batch received it after the Great Bill Murray Switcheroo? My other Quirk books finally came through but no luck with this one.

I am still waiting for Meatspace by Nikesh Shukla from the July 2015 batch.

It's been a year (March 2015 batch) and I still haven't received All the Days and Nights by Niven Govinden.

At this point, I'm not expecting to ever get it, and that's fine, but should I bother continuing to update the Early Reviewer Book entry that I haven't received the book? (I've been going in every month or so and updating the date)

ETA -- Even once (if) the book arrives, there's no real need to manually log an update, although you of course can if you want to. The system updates itself automatically as soon as you list your review.

Well, technically you can update the record again. On unreceived books, the option is "I still haven't received this book".

It updates the date, I thought it might put it higher on the problem child list that Lorranne and the other LT'rs see.

I know that once you put in the review, that side of the equation gets updated automatically.

All things being equal, we are talking about FREE books. I suppose if we really want them, we can get them the old fashioned way: buy them.

Going through my list today, there are 3 books I never received: Understanding Minecraft, The Beast of Cretacea, and Pop Sonnets. I noticed that others reviewed The Beast of Cretacea and wondered if I was the only one who never received a copy.

Still have not received my copy of "Flesh and Blood" by Patricia Cornwell from the December 2015 Member Giveaway.

I won All the Days and Nights by Niven Govinden but have not received! That was over a year ago! March 2015 batch. Any news?
