About meHelen Smith is a member of the Society of Authors and the Writers Guild. She travelled the world when her daughter was small, doing all sorts of strange jobs to support them both - from cleaning motels to working as a magician's assistant - before returning to live in London where she wrote her first novel which was published by Gollancz in 1999.

She writes novels, poetry, plays and screenplays and is the recipient of an Arts Council of England Award. She's a long-term supporter of the Medical Foundation for the Victims of Torture and mentors members of an exiled writers group to help them tell their stories. She likes knitting but she doesn't like driving. She likes dancing. She has a blog: http://helensmithblog.blogspot.com. Come and say hello!

Hi, I am currently reading the book. I am enjoying it so far. Sorry it took so long to get started but I just moved so I am getting settled in and finally finding time to read. Review soon!
Yes I did receive the book. I have not read it yet. It is the next book on my to do list after I finish the one I am reading. Will review soon! Thank you for the copy and for signing it! Have a Great day!
Received the book and am reading it now. So far it's different than what I usually read but I'm finding it interesting and amusing. When finished, I'll let you know how I liked it. Again, thank you for letting me read it.

I did get it! And I read it! And enjoyed it! It's sitting on my desk, in my to-review pile. Soon, I promise.
Thank you! Am looking forward to reading.
Thanks for a great book! I have my fingers crossed for Alison, Phoebe, Ella and poor Jeff. I hope they're living happily in your imagination, and would love it if you wrote a little follow up. I can see why you wouldn't, I see Alison as a book about yearning and dreaming, but I can't help wanting things to work out for them.
My copy of Alison in Wonderland came yesterday. It looks so good I want to devour it right away, but alas am committed to reading a few other things first. I can't wait to get to it.
Thanks, Helen, I was able to order a used copy, and my sister who has a kindle and does shop at Amazon should be ordering a copy too. It looks like a good story.
Hi, I looked for Alison Wonderland on Barnes and Noble and couldn't find it. I don't buy from Amazon, and it's not in my library. Any suggestions where I can get it?
