Interesting plot, characters well drawn, however book could have been about 2/3 as long- author did not leave any detail out- so much so that the story was lost in minutae, too bad she didn't keep track of things like the colour of the heroine's hair- it was brunette for awhile, then it turned honey blond! The heroine's response to the final proposal was quite out of character/period. A good editor could have made this a much better book.
Really good. Each person true to their characters, a fascinatingly complex situation, only one contrived obstacle and that a minor consideration - it doesn't really come into play until near the end and so doesn't last long. She has better reasons for refusing him before that. I really like Victoria, and Damion, and Jessica - I even like Margaret, by the end. And never a false note - it rang true as a Regency story throughout (no falling into bed. for one thing). Excellent.
I just loved this collection of short Christmas romance stories. Every one was well written, with great characters who were all very relatable. The stories were all captivating and the romances were passionate and sincere. Highly recommend.
A very light novella. Although I enjoy Regency set stories I usually end up thinking 'not as good as Georgette Heyer'.
