The sudden death of showbiz agent Panc creates complications for everyone around him, not least those busy with the organisation of a spectacular gala evening in Utrecht's Tivoli to celebrate the fifteenth birthday of the agency. There's every risk that the elegant gala is going to turn into Jerry Springer.

Giphart has fun mocking Dutch celebrity culture, throwing in apt show more bits of advice from the 17th century Spanish Jesuit Baltasar Gracián in between the pop songs, evening dresses and designer cocktails, but it's hard not to get irritated by his idea of a female narrator — she spends the entire ninety pages talking about men... show less

Giphart is iets waar je van moet houden. Ik hou er van. De woordspelingen, gedachtensprongen, directheid, openheid en gewoon het gewoord kut gebruiken. Ik kan het op zijn tijd wel waarderen. Net als open seksualiteit. Niets mis mee. Maar leg het wel even weg als je het in de bus leest en er een non naast je komt zitten ;-)

Een amusante verzameling anecdotes over koken, restaurants, eten en voedsel + voor elke dag een recept. Ik heb er van genoten, ondanks het feit dat bijna alle recepten vlees of vis bevatten. Humoristisch, leuk.
